The mineral CoQ10 (Coenzyme Q10) is an important antioxidant that is produced in small amounts by our body, and can be found in a lot of the food we eat on a daily basis, it can also be purchased in a supplement.


There are only 2 types of CoQ10:

1) Ubiquinol the antioxidant type

2) Ubiquinone, the oxidized type


There are several healthy heart supplements on the market that contain at least one type of CoQ10. For the most part, coenzymes are needed to help pure enzymes to function biochemically. Coenzyme Q10 is an important component needed in the chain reaction that leads to the generation of energy in our cells it is also a part of every cell in our body, however Coq10 is produced in larger amounts in the organs that require greater amounts of energy like our liver, pancreas, kidneys, and of course our most important muscle; our heart.

Many scientists believe that greater heart health benefits are achieved when Coenzyme Q10 is combined with N-Acetylcysteine (NAC) in a daily supplement, citing that the greater proportion of benefits are due to CoQ10’s ability to fully maximize the use of oxygen when combined with NAC for the production of energy,  NAC is especially important for cardiovascular heath.

Why does our body need CoQ10?


CoQ10 helps to keep our heart healthy in more ways than one. It helps to maintain good levels cholesterol particularly our bad cholesterol (LDL) while maintaining good circulatory health, it also helps to maintain correct function of the muscles in and around our heart. Scientific studies also prove that CoQ10 helps keep our blood vessels healthy. In addition to all of the wonderful cardiovascular health benefits, Coenzyme Q10 has also been shown to significantly reduce the amount of migraine headaches one may encounter as well as reducing their level of intensity. Further testing has proven that CoQ10 slows down the rate of progression in patients with Parkinson’s disease. In other studies it was noted that CoQ10 supplements also helped to prevent and reverse gingivitis and other forms og gum disease.

Our body produces CoQ10, however the amount is small therefore it is recommended to take a supplement like VitaPulse in order to get the recommended daily amount of 100mg.
